Hilary has more than 30 years of experience as a teacher and educational leader. She has taught both boys and girls and is passionate about providing challenging learning opportunities at all stages of a child's education.

Hilary joined KRB as Principal in July 2005. Since then she has been instrumental in leading our school forward with her inspiring educational vision.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Hilary is a graduate of the University of Sheffield with an Honours degree in Biochemistry and Physiology. She also studied teacher education at the University of Oxford.

Hilary met her Australian husband at Corpus Christi College in Oxford and travelled with him to the USA when he took up a post at Harvard. She continued to teach science at independent Catholic schools in Washington DC for two years.

Hilary and her husband have two adult children who live in London.

After moving to Australia, Hilary continued her postgraduate studies, achieving her Masters of Education at the University of Sydney and in Theology at Sydney College of Divinity.

In Australia her career flourished as she moved into various leadership roles in a number of Catholic schools including:

  • Catherine McAuley Westmead (Principal for nine years)
  • Loreto Normanhurst (Deputy Principal)
  • St Aloysius College Milsons Point (Head of Science)

At KRB, Hilary has strengthened our school's global position and created a community where diversity is embraced. As an active ambassador for KRB, Hilary's prominence within the education sector has helped to position our school at the forefront of contemporary teaching and learning.

She was the Deputy President of the Heads of Independent Girls Schools (NSW) and a leading Principal of the Asian Educational Foundation. Additionally, Hilary is a member of:

  • Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (AHISA)
  • Association of Independent Girls Schools (AHIGS)
  • Independent Schools Council for Excellence
  • HMC UK (the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference)
  • Former Deputy President of AHIGS (Association of Heads of Independent Girls Schools)
  • Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors
  • Australian College of Educational Leaders
